The
P.A. People Signage
Freehand,
Photoshop, Streamline
The
client wanted some classy indoor signage at a relatively small cost. He
had renovated and wanted to communicate the company's philosphies and
mission statement inside the new reception area. I had an open brief -
all I had to think about was the cost and how the new signs would work
with the bright red walls and designer sofas.
In
designing the signage, I retained the impact of the walls by laying a
minimal amount of white vinyl lettering fixed on two large sheets of clear
perspex. Contrasting the order and simplicty of this arrangement, I created
some expressive hand drawn lettering, did some scanning and put it through
Streamline, enlarged it a thousand times and had it cut it from red vinyl.
This was fixed directly to the red walls, creating an interesting red-on-red
look. The perspex sheets were then bolted about 15 mm from the wall.
An
example of effective environmental design that doesn't cost the earth.
