This
illustration was created for an article in Cardinal Points, the magazine
of one of New Zealand's leading software companies, Cardinal.
The
article, entitled 'Beyond the Apocalypse', discusses how many businesses
have recognised the effect that the millennium bug could have on their information
systems, but have failed to recognise the ability of their software to
work effectively beyond 2000. This article outlines how
businesses can 'kill two birds with one stone', by developing solutions
that are not only Year 2000 compliant, but are future proof and geared
for the new millennium. Not surprisingly, these solutions would be built
using Jade, Cardinal's RAD toolkit.
The
illustration represents the 'unravelling information superhighway' in
a post-apocalyptic millennium. It was run over two facing pages, with
the text set below.
