Quikpoint
Touchscreen Kiosk
After
Effects, Freehand, Photoshop
I
was asked to produce a 15 second animation for Quikpoint, a kiosk-based
bill payment system developed by a local power company. The animation
is designed to be a looping screen saver when the kiosk is unattended,
and also to attract interest for potential users.
The
Quikpoint identity had already been created, so it was a case of animating
the elements in a simple yet lively manner that would state the kiosk's
features, but not confuse the user.
Retaining
the integrity of the identity, I didn't introduce any new elements except
for two animated semi-transparent horizontal bars. Rather than being cosmetic,
these bars reveal the features text while the Quikpoint hummingbird wipes
it away. The animation ends on the logo and 'touch screen to start' text,
sans horizontal bars - the exact still-image from which I based the project
on.
