When I bought my new car in November 1999, I felt on top of the world. My rusty old Mazda 323 was just about on its last legs, and I had spent months trying to find the perfect replacement. After test driving six or seven vehicles, ranging from the 'boy racer' to the 'lemon', I splashed out my hard earned dollars on a 1993 Mitsubishi Lancer MR.

As most young men do, I took photographs just after its first wash and polish. It was hard not to as it sparkled in the midday sun. But why stop at just a few snaps? So I built a site of my new car and emailed the link to all my friends.

The site was designed with a pop-up window in mind, and uses a colour palette similar to the car to give it a touch of class. While the site has some textual information, it uses no text but instead graphics.

I'm now working towards a rally-spec Evolution 7. Should take me about 20 years!
